Hey everyone! Sorry here! The Patch 4.10 notes are finally out, and it's packing a bunch of changes that are set to shake up the game meta.
Janna Nilah and Jax Ornn received a slap on the wrist. Meanwhile, Warden of the Tribes is going back to its old 9-mana cost, which makes that big finisher play a bit slower.
In this article, I'll showcase different standard decks you can test on day 1 of Patch 4.10.
Jack Janna
21 cards
19 cards
This Jack Janna deck focuses on reducing card costs using the Updraft mechanic from Maryam, Temple Caretaker, Janna, and Sunken Temple. On turn 4, you want to drop either Janna or Jack. Jack brings mid-game pressure with Nexus threat and coin generation, while Janna's ability to Updraft lets you set up powerful future turns if she isn't taken out.
Sunken Temple may be a slow play, but it ensures you won't run out of resources later in the game, plus it helps you draw cards at a discount, setting the stage for even more powerful turns. A leveled-up Jack becomes a Nexus-damaging powerhouse, especially when combined with a Rally from Nukkle, Mako, and Bull.
The King's Court can now draw Jack, allowing you to set him up for the next turn or even the same turn if Jack's mana cost has been reduced or you can Coin him into the battlefield.
Ahri Bard
31 cards
9 cards
In this deck, both Ahri and Children of the Forest got some buffs in Patch 4.10, giving Ahri's decks a nice boost. Ahri Bard focuses on dealing elusive Nexus damage, recalling units, and building towards the Chimes' win condition.
Pairing Ahri with Dancing Droplet creates valuable card draw opportunities, ensuring additional resources. Leveling Ahri is now easier, allowing for a solid Elusive attack with Ahri sooner than before.
As you plant Chimes in the deck, you'll gradually buff up the Elusive units in your hand, giving you an alternative win condition that doesn't rely solely on Ahri's swap ability. Children of the Forest isn't just for late-game now; you can use it defensively with its 2-mana recall mechanic to protect key units.
Renekton Sejuani
21 cards
19 cards
Renekton Sejuani is all about using Overwhelm units like Ruthless Raider, Tusk Speaker, Renekton, Sejuani, and Glacial Saurian to build your win condition. The idea here is to apply pressure to the opponent with Overwhelm, forcing them to find answers.
This deck got some small buffs, with Omen Hawk now able to block elusive units, slowing down their aggression until you set up your win condition. Exhaust also got a change, going from Focus to Burst speed, making it more versatile as both a defensive and offensive combat trick to keep your units and Nexus health safe. Curse of the Tomb is crucial for setting up double Nexus damage from an Overwhelm unit that can potentially end the game.
Sejuani Sion
25 cards
15 cards
This Sejuani Sion version by SpectreLoR can be quite aggressive with early units and transitioning to Overwhelm units such as Glacial Saurian, Sejuani, and Sion.
A leveled Sion can threaten a lot of damage, and with Sion Returned, you'll get to attack another time and potentially set up the lethal attack. The deck might struggle to level up Sion as this version doesn't run a lot of discard cards.
Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin's new buff allows you to revive the strongest allythat died, which means you'll get to summon Sion, setting up that double Overwhelm attack. Invocation Of Thunder can come in handy to drop Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin a turn earlier than usual.
Norra Gnar
19 cards
21 cards
I found this Norra Gnar list by Iannogueira, that can go wide on the board with Mysterious Portal from Norra, Junk Construct, Portal Scholar, and Portalpalooza. A wide board of units means you'll be able to chip away at the opponent's Nexus and potentially destroy it if the opponent fails to keep up with your development.
Quietus, Soul Harvest, and Hate Spike act as important low-cost removal tools to keep the opponent's board in check.
As for Eclectic Collection, the spell received a buff in Patch 4.10, dropping its cost to 6 mana. The Poison Puffcap will put your opponent on the clock, and force them to end the game as soon as possible.
Sion Bandle City
12 cards
28 cards
TheCake shared this aggressive discard deck with me that can create a lot of value with Mecha Yordles and Lost Soul.
You're able to wide on the board, push Nexus damage, and advance Sion's level up. Return-o Wrench acts as a discard fodder, letting you set up the important plays while providing a +1 health protection layer to an attacking unit.
Once Sion levels up, he threatens to push a lot of Overwhelm damage, and if killed, it's time to Rally and go for another swing with Sion Returned.
Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin creates a late-game win condition to end the game with a summoned Sion.
Vayne Kayn
18 cards
22 cards
This midrange deck heavily relies on Kayn as the win condition. The goal is to play different Cultist units and draw a Kayn by turn 5/6. Kayn's challenger keyword helps you pick off the opponent's units and advance his level-up condition. Cards like Cataclysm, Furious Wielder, and Tumble can speed up Kayn's level-up.
Ideally, you want Rhaast as the transformation choice, providing Nexus and self-healing and making it tough for the opponent to deal with him while ensuring an Overwhelm win condition.
Gwen Sejuani
23 cards
17 cards
This is an old archetype that synergizes both the Overwhelm and Hallowed keywords to create powerful attacks.
With the buff to Haunted Tomb, players might look to include it in the list, allowing you to revive carry units like Gwen or Sejuani, capable of creating more pressure on the opponent, especially if the unit is summoned on the Attack turn.
Kennen Ahri
30 cards
10 cards
An Elusive deck, similar to the Bard version but takes advantage of Kennen's early game to keep the board in check with Mark of the Storm.
Leveling up Ahri is much easier now, letting you set up the powerful swap attack for a lethal Nexus strike. Buffing Ahri with Heroic Refrain will push more Nexus damage and protect her from damage spells.
7 cards
33 cards
This is a Targon version by Ginerlem0n that takes advantage of Generous Gemcrafter to buff up the units in your hand.
Closing Words:
Although Patch 4.10 didn't hit Janna package and Jax Ornn with more impactful nerfs, the buffs should push new decks into the meta and hopefully hold up well against the popular decks. I'm excited to see how the meta shifts in Patch 4.10!
