The Heart of the Huntress expansion has introduced many new decks into the meta. As players experiment with the new cards, some have been taking their ladder climb seriously, making it to Master rank relatively quickly.
The meta feels diverse so far, and the current Master players have made their climb with a variety of different decks; we'll go through some of them today. Here are 9 different decks that have already made it to Master rank.
xGenarog's Jayce Sentinels
25 cards
15 cards
xGenarog made a quick Master climb on the EMEA server with Jayce Shadow Isles Sentinels deck. The archetype is a good choice to combat the early patch aggressive decks you'll face as you climb the ladder.
Additionally, the Fearsome keyword on both Burgeoning Sentinel and Buhru Sentinel lets you squeeze early damage before cards like
Albus Ferros and Shock Blast set up the burn plan.
Epic Scraptraption is the newest addition to the list. The card can summon a Brash unit capable of sneaking Nexus damage.
Vendorty's Evelynn Kayle
19 cards
21 cards
Vendorty has made it to Master on the EMEA server with Evelynn Kayle, taking advantage of the new Siren Song card.
Siren Song has put Evelynn Targon on the map, buffing up all the Husks, which subsequently transfers those stats to summoned units.
This creates a powerful board that will advance the level up of both Kayle and Xolaani the Bloodweaver. Both units gain significant stats and form an Overwhelm win condition.
MFMM's Aatrox BW
33 cards
7 cards
MFMM from the APAC server piloted the Aatrox Xolaani deck up to Master rank. While this archetype experienced a period of success, boasting a positive win rate among the top 10 most-played decks, it eventually slipped into the meme tier. However, with the addition of Siren Song, the archetype gains a new tool to enhance 1-mana-cost units, amplifying the board threat and furthering the Xolaani, Aspect's Bane win condition.
Surprisingly, this list incorporates Blood in the Water, a card commonly seen in Pyke Rek'Sai, capitalizing on the Rally effect and setting up devastating attacks.
Maykas' Jinx Samira
17 cards
23 cards
Jinx Samira has been a staple deck in patch 4.5, serving as a reliable and aggressive option to counter Fizz Samira decks. Maykas was the first to reach Master rank on the America server with this Jinx Samira list.
The aggressive deck can go wide on the board and start chipping away at the Nexus. Samira can be annoying early in the game when she starts challenging and picking off units. Jinx drops on the board in the late game, creating a burn threat with Super Mega Death Rocket! and additional card draw value.
Bee's Teemo Ionia Elusives
19 cards
21 cards
We don't see many elusive decks finding success anymore, but Bee mostly played Teemo Ionia Elusives on their climb to Master and managed to be one of the early players to make it to the highest rank in Runeterra.
This deck capitalizes on elusive units to sneak Nexus damage. With most units boasting low costs, the deck excels at going wide and exerting early pressure on the board. Cards like Vastayan Disciple, Augmented Clockling, Shadow Assassin, and Rejuvenating Breeze provide valuable card draw, ensuring the engine continues running. Additionally, the deck can transition to a burn strategy with Mystic Shot and Blowback.
Kyzen's Annie Jhin
25 cards
15 cards
Annie Jhin is another aggressive deck that aims to close out games as fast as possible. Kyzen from the APAC server achieved a rapid climb to Master rank with this Annie Jhin list.
I was amazed that Annie Jhin held up well on the first day of the expansion, considering the many new swarm decks that can keep up with the early aggression Annie Jhin can impose.
Aggressive decks often thrive during early expansions as they take advantage of new, unrefined decks that are still in their testing phase.
GreenSlimey's Norra Teemo
23 cards
17 cards
GreenSlimey from the APAC server took advantage of the Norra Teemo swarm deck to close out games as fast as possible.
The archetype can put a lot of early pressure through the discard mechanism and the new equipment Return-o Wrench. Sneezy Biggledust! becomes increasingly valuable with a wider board, enabling more Nexus damage while posing a challenge for opponents to shut down the attack. Electro Harpoon and Blowback serve as crucial burn damage tools, eliminating weak units and dealing Nexus damage.
ValyrianBlade's Kai'Sa Garen J4
21 cards
19 cards
ValyrianBlade made a quick climb to Master on the America server with the good old Kai'Sa Garen Jarvan IV. Most of the decks in the early days of the expansion struggle to shut down the Kai'Sa Cataclysm combo play. A Scout or Overwhelm keyword on Kai'Sa will accelerate the pace of the game and put the opponent on the clock.
Captain Mimi's Pyke Rek'Sai
15 cards
25 cards
Amazingly, Lurk has been performing well on the ranked ladder, and Captain Mimi piloted this Pyke Rek'Sai list on the EMEA server up to Master rank.
Lurkers usually struggle against aggressive decks but are extremely powerful against midrange or slow archetypes. The Lurkers will end up becoming a threat in the later stages of the game, forcing a block if the opponent wishes to save their Nexus' health.
Rek'Sai along with Xerxa'Reth, The Undertitan create an Overwhelm win condition that forces an answer out of the opponent.
Closing Words
We're still in the early stages of the new meta, and things are changing up fast. Siren Song decks have gained substantial popularity, and calls for nerfs have already emerged from the player base. The meta is likely to adapt and introduce counters to the Siren Song decks, aiming to maintain a balanced environment.
