Hey everyone, Sorry here! Runeterra's feeling a bit dull as we eagerly wait for the new expansion to drop next week. But why let the dullness take over when we can add some flavor to the mix with some off-meta decks that break away from the typical meta?
I've gathered a bunch of off-meta decks that the community brewed, so let's dive right in!
Viktor Zilean
29 cards
11 cards

This Viktor Zilean
combo is all about setting up multiple-win conditions throughout the game. Zilean
's Time Bomb
and Fallen Feline
's Hexite Crystal
are your power duo for burning down the opponent's Nexus. Predict cards like Zilean
, Forsaken Baccai
, Augmented Clockling
, and Time Trick
help you find the right pieces at the right time.
To get more resources into your deck, Evil Imperfectionist can copy the Time Bomb
, making it easier for you to find more of them as you draw cards.
Viktor is a solid 4 drop that gains a keyword every turn. and can become a win condition if left unchecked. A leveled Viktor
reduces the cost of created cards, making your Time Bomb
and Hexite Crystal
cheaper to play. Another method to reduce the cost of your cards is through Glorious Evolution
, setting up more plays in future turns and beefing up the Power of your units, forcing the opponent to find answers for them.
The main plan is to burn down the opponent's Nexus and destroy their board with Time Bomb and Hexite Crystal
. Additionally, a Chemtech Drake
offers additional Nexus burn that simply can't be ignored by the opponent.
Sejuani Trundle
9 cards
31 cards

This Trundle Sejuani
deck pulls off a late-game play with Sefirsa, Scourge of the Deep
. The plan is to drop Sefirsa, Scourge of the Deep
on the board and follow it up with Trundle
's Ice Pillar
to get a free 8-cost card.
Since Sefirsa, Scourge of the Deep is the only Sea Monster in the deck, Lure of the Depths
will draw Sefirsa, Scourge of the Deep
, and reduce its cost, allowing you to set it up a turn earlier before you drop Ice Pillar
or Boadir of Blackened Ice
. The value from Sefirsa and the Ice Pillar
can tilt the game in your favor.
Annie Taliyah
22 cards
18 cards

This combo deck hinges on attack-ability units like Annie, Taliyah
, and Captive Greyback
as win conditions. Empower those abilities with cards like Ravenborn Tome
, Tybaulk
, and Headmistress Telsi
for extra damage and Nexus-threatening plays.
Taliyah can level up easily thanks to the many landmarks this list runs. This creates powerful attacks with Taliyah
's Threaded Volley
, which forces the opponent to block her. However, if you cast a Supercharge
on Taliyah
, you'll get to push tons of Threaded Volley
damage and follow it up with an Overwhelm hit to end the game.
Similarly, Headmistress Telsi doubling Captive Greyback
attack ability will deal more Nexus damage and set an opportunity for Overwhelm damage.
Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin offers an alternative win condition by reviving Taliyah
and going for an Overwhelm hit.
Draven Aphelios
18 cards
22 cards

Draven Aphelios
is a combo deck that heavily relies on Out Of The Way
as a key part of its game plan. The primary objective is to play this card as early as possible, which enables you to keep buffs and keywords on your units permanently.
Spells like Might will stick on your units even after the turn is over. This is exceptionally strong, as it eliminates the need to replay spells to regain the Overwhelm keyword.
While stat buffs play a role, the real game-changer is giving "I can't take damage or die" through Divine Judgment to the carry unit. This effect remains for the entire game, making it challenging for opponents to set up effective attacks or find solutions unless they have a silence spell to nullify the effect.
An alternative method to protect a unit from damage is through Draven's Spinning Axe
discarding a Survival Skills
, which also remains on the unit permanently. Alternatively, casting Survival Skills
can grant all units on the board the "I can't drop below 1 health" effect.
If closing out the game with a carry unit proves difficult, Solari Sunforger's Life Steal becomes a valuable tool, allowing you to extend the game until all the pieces are in place.
Finally, Aphelios is in the deck for his Moon Weapons, providing both the Overwhelm and Life Steal keywords that can carry the game if played on a Wounded Whiteflame
or Draven
.
To add more pressure, Trifarian Training Pits can activate Rally, allowing you to attack twice with your carry unit.
Fiora Shurima
20 cards
20 cards

Mono Fiora used to bring nightmares to the community. The whole game plan of the deck is to keep Fiora
alive and manage to kill four enemy units with her.
While the Fiora Freljord deck was once the go-to choice on the ladder, players are now exploring a Shurima variant that has the tools to fulfill the Fiora
win condition.
The plan is to drop Fiora with enough mana to protect her. Given that Fiora
is the sole win condition, the inclusion of Rite of Calling
is crucial, ensuring you get to draw your champion by turns 4 or 5.
By taking advantage of Fiora's challenger keyword, you'll be able to pick off low-power units without putting Fiora
at risk. The deck has spells like Shield of Durand
and Stand Alone
to give Fiora
a stat boost.
Rite of Negation and Unyielding Spirit
are your strongest protection cards if the opponent commits a removal tool like Vengeance
or The Ruination
.
To expedite the Fiora win condition, use strike spells like Single Combat
, Desert Duel
, and Concerted Strike
. These spells efficiently pick off enemy units, bringing you closer to fulfilling the 4-kill requirement.
Closing Words
Off-meta decks in Legends of Runeterra offer a fun way to play outside the popular meta. While it is challenging to win against established decks, the real enjoyment comes from setting up unique win conditions and breaking free from the norm.
