Hey everyone, Sorry here! Patch 4.11 is here, and we're about to kick off the Eternal climb. We've got 11 new cards that'll either bring fresh flavors to the game or solidify the game plans of existing decks.
Day 1 of climbing the ladder is usually a bit of a wild ride. Expect players to try out new decks, so it's going to be a bit chaotic. But watch out; some players will stick to old decks, especially the aggressive ones like Miss Fortune Twisted Fate.
In today's article, I'll share seven different decks you can test out on day 1 of Patch 4.11.
Nilah Twisted Fate
12 cards
28 cards
The community feared Twisted Fate's potential with Sunken Temple, and we'll likely see many players experiment with different versions of this archetype. Aikado recently shared his take on Twisted Fate Nilah, which incorporates Ruined Rex into its strategy.
This deck applies heavy pressure with Nilah and Twisted Fate, making opponents scramble for answers before these champions level up. Sunken Temple's card draw helps accelerate both champions' level ups and turns them into win conditions. Nilah's Brash keyword makes her tricky to block, while Twisted Fate keeps the opponent's board in check with red and yellow cards and provides extra value with the blue card.
Moreover, Sunken Temple supercharges Ruined Rex, allowing it to unleash a devastating Rocket Barrage by capitalizing on card draw to clear the board and burn down the Nexus.
Lastly, cards like Get Excited!, Mystic Shot, and Divine Whirlwind serve as burn spells to help close out the game.
Teemo Fizz Poppy Bandle Tree
38 cards
2 cards
The Bandle Tree has been out of the meta since it was nerfed in Patch 3.6. Patch 4.11 reduces the mana cost of The Bandle Tree down to 3, allowing you to drop it on turn 3 and start working towards its win condition.
The Teemo Fizz Poppy deck is all about swarming your opponent with wide, aggressive attacks, putting pressure on their Nexus. Setting up The Bandle Tree on turn 3 is key to generating value and making progress towards the landmark's win condition.
With plenty of low-cost units, you can flood the board after dropping The Bandle Tree, threatening more Nexus damage while advancing the landmark's condition. Your opponent will have their hands full, juggling board control and dealing with the landmark win condition.
Poppy shines by buffing all units and creating even more pressure. Plus, she offers the Demacia region to advance The Bandle Tree progress.
The Kingfisher Shurima
21 cards
19 cards
This is a late-game Demacia deck that relies on different champions and The Kingfisher to dominate the game.
Early on, you'll focus on keeping up with your opponent's board development using units like Akshan, Petricite Broadwing, and Scholarly Pioneer.
The mid-game is crucial, as you'll use Secret Keeper to place two level 2 champions at the bottom of the deck. This sets you up to draw them with The Kingfisher in the late game, providing valuable resources and a win condition.
The drawn champions add more pressure to the board, and your strategy will depend on the champions you've created with Secret Keeper. Keep in mind that as long as The Kingfisher is in play, you can Rally once every round when a champion is played.
19 cards
21 cards
Another version relies more on Priestess Of Desert Light to draw and summon those units on the board. You can get more value out of Priestess Of Desert Light by playing cards like The Darkin Aegis or Shield of Durand.
Kalista Kindred
3 cards
37 cards
Kalista Kindred is a swarm deck capable of chipping early Nexus damage as it sets up for the They Who Endure win condition.
The more units die on your end, the more stats They Who Endure will gain, creating that powerful Overwhelm win condition that forces an answer out of the opponent.
Since you run a lot of low-cost units that you'll want to sacrifice, Glimpse Beyond and Spirit Leech offer card draw to keep your hand from running out of cards. At the same time, sacrificing units with Glimpse Beyond and Spirit Leech will buff up They Who Endure.
If you're unable to finish the game with one big attack, Atrocity comes in handy to close out the game, especially if your opponent commits a removal tool to kill They Who Endure.
Aurelion Sol Warmother's Call
13 cards
27 cards
This is a ramp deck that uses Winter's Breath and Wild Mysticism to accelerate the pace of the game and set up the big plays.
Cards like Avalanche, Falling Star, and Seismic Shard help keep the opponent's board in check until you manage to hit the late game.
Warmother's Call is the strongest play in this deck, enabling you to summon one of your big units from the deck at the start of each round. Eventually, your opponent won't be able to keep up with the summoned units, especially if you hit an Aurelion Sol and get to level him up.
Veiled Protector offers Nexus healing to keep you in the game. Whereas Boadir of Blackened Ice summons two Frozen Thrall that'll advance to 2. This means you'll get to create an Overwhelm win condition once the Frostguard Thrall are ready to attack.
Burn Over Draw
13 cards
27 cards
This deck is more of a meme and isn't recommended for serious ladder climbing. The game plan revolves around burning down the opponent's Nexus with Chemtech Drake. To initiate the burn strategy, you'll need a full hand of cards and start overdrawing. That's where Sandseer comes into play, providing continuous card draw since the deck consists of 38 landmarks.
You'll keep drawing cards until you burn down the opponent's Nexus and secure the win.
Landmarks like Ancient Preparations, Hibernating Rockbear, The Forge Of Tomorrow, Salt Spire, and Back Alley Bar offer units on the board to act as blockers and prolong the game until the combo is ready.
Annie Nilah
25 cards
15 cards
This is a combo-oriented deck that aims to cast Deluge as early as possible and amplify all elemental spells and skills. The list has a lot of low-cost damage cards like Make it Rain, Heavy Metal, and Ravenous Flock to help keep the board in check as you work for your win condition.
Both Disintegrate and Scorched Earth are powerful removal cards to deal with key units on the opponent's side of the board.
Elemental spells and skills such as Ebb, Tidal Wave, and Enraged Firespitter will kill high-health units, clearing the opponent's board and setting up a burn-win condition.
To keep the cards flowing, Nilah's Slipstream and Eye of the Dragon provide essential card draw to keep you in the game.
Closing Words
Eternal ladder will be all over the place on day 1 of Patch 4.11, and I'm excited to see what players will be testing out and how the meta will develop as we figure out the best decks for the Runeterra Open.
